when the global pandemic hit, so many found ourselves re-evaluating our own needs. With life disrupted, many of the small luxuries we had relied on—like brunches with friends or trips to the nail salon—became out of reach and actually sparked the question-“What is self -care?”
Meet our Founder
Meet Shacorra, the heart and soul behind Light Care Essentials. A Boston native raised in a close-knit family with her parents and two siblings, Shacorra has spent years caring for others. With roles as a caretaker, teacher, and community case worker, she’s been dedicated to supporting families, ensuring that parents could take a moment to reconnect while knowing their children were safe and loved at home.
After much resource, Shacorra realized that while her “normal” activities were enjoyable, they weren’t always the true acts of self-care she needed, especially during such a challenging time.
Our Story
this pause, Shacorra began exploring the concept of self-care on a deeper level—not just care for others, but genuine, restorative care for herself. Inspired by the saying, “You can’t pour from an empty cup,” she embarked on a journey to redefine self-care in a way that was affordable, accessible, and truly nourishing.
Our Mission
Light Care Essentials was born from this exploration—a wellness brand created to demystify self-care and make it attainable for everyone. Our products, resources , and services are here to help you reconnect and restore balance, wellness, and self-love.
